Karen C. Bland attained her lifetime passion of oil painting beginning in 1991 while attending classes at Arlington Adult Education. Influenced by her 40-year career of interior design, travels, and love of nature, Karen's realistic style of painting focuses on composition, balance of color, movement, and depth.

A native Washingtonian, Karen has displayed her work at various locations, including The Library of Congress, George Mason University, the Janice Gentry Gallery of Arlington, the Arlington Central Library, and the Gainesville, FL Art Fair. She received the Annual Library of Congress Professional Association (LCPA) Employee Arts and Crafts Exhibit Award for Featured Artists in Painting-Based Works with her submission of "Lily Along the Pathway."

She has been active at Columbia Pike Artists Studio in Arlington, VA since 2018. For any questions, she can be contacted by email at contact@karenbland.art
